Iowa is an at will employment state and you can be fired for any reason or for no reason. The exceptions are if your discharge was related to some forbidden factor. In Iowa race color religion ethnicity age sex sexual orientation disability are the forbidden factors. You must be able to prove that other without that characteristic were treated more favorably.
