About Me:
I am a former private investigator who is now an attorney at law concentrating in the areas of fair wages, employee rights, criminal defense, fair housing, and general civil litigation. I handle both state and federal causes of actions including, but not limited to, actions pursuant to Title VII of The Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, the Fair Housing Act, the Illinois Minimum Wage Law, the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, the American’s with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Illinois Human Rights Act, The Family Medical Leave Act of 1993, as well as other common law actions and contract disputes. In addition to being a skilled litigator, I am also an effective negotiator, and has been successful in mediation as well as in the courtroom.
I grew up in Pensacola Florida before moving to Chicago where I began studying philosophy at Loyola University of Chicago. I continued to study philosophy as graduate student at DePaul University. As an undergraduate, I spent a year studying in Rome, Italy, and traveled throughout Europe and Israel.
After graduating, I continued to study philosophy as graduate student at DePaul University. During my studies at DePaul I developed a strange desire to become a professional private detective.
Thus, I spent the next four years working full time as a private investigator. During these years I traveled the country investigating fraud, and assisting in criminal defense cases, including one death penalty case.
It was during my years as a private investigator that I witnessed the injustices that good people suffered. It was these experiences that compelled me to study the law.
Today, when I take on a case, it is because I believe in the cause and the client, and I am determined to make sure he or she is made whole; and that that the wrongdoer is deterred from future transgressions.
Sincerely,
Ryan Scott Nalley
