Can a employer cut wage of a subcontractor because of their spouse?

I'm the spouse of the individual that I'm asking the question for. I did do something to CMA on a piece of equipment that my wife's boss currently owns and because of this, he basically has split the house apart or it would be at bare minimum a reduction in my wife's wages!

Basically he pays the rent as part of my wife's salary package. He has threatened ever since this occured that he will either stop paying the rent or only pay half rent and NOT compensate for the change in wages/pay package.

I came back to the household because of the pandemic that is occuring at the moment because the registraion on the car and my license states that where my wife is is home and if the Stay at Home was to be enforced by law enforcement, I will be in my home area.

However he has called my wife recently and again threatened her with the only paying half rent on the home once more again with no compensation.

What options do we have in this situation? If we do have rights and exercise them, this person will surely fire her.

Any direction will be apprecieted!
