Do I have an opportunity for litigation in this matter.

I was tramatized at work after an abusive co-worker threatened me while I was working my shift. I missed one week of work after seeking medical attention as recommended by my employer. Three days after my return, I am threatened with my job for false allegations my employer accused me of. My employer would not go into detail about the pre-text. I worked for two more months before being called into the office and terminated for the alleged reasons given two months prior. My workmans comp case is still open. I am still seeking medical(Psychological) assistance. Is my former employer able to get away with this. The employment arena I was in was very unhealthy, (Mentally and Emotionally), and I have been depressed and living in fear, from the verbal abuse and violence the individual who threatened me with.

It would be illegal for your employer to fire you for complaining about a threat of violence against you by your co-worker, or for making a workers compensation claim. The details are important. You may wish to use the membership listing at www.cela.org to locate an attorney near you.
