Does a law set a maximum on the number of hours worked?
Is there a law stating a maximum amount of voluntary overtime an employee can work in a work week?

No. The only rule is that if you work over 40 hours, you have to be paid time and a half. The only exception is for minors. This is limited to Ohio law. The law in other states may differ.
