Even though i am required to work 50 hours a week my employer only pays me 40 hours for a week vacat
my employer requires me to work a 50 hour work week but for a weeks pay vacation only pays me 40 hours is this legal.

It depends on whether you are a non-exemot employer under the overtime laws. Contact an employment lawyer ASAP.
