Giving/taking away offer to give to someone else
As part of a recent merger at my company, my department was dissolved. They offered me a position with another group, only to pull it back when I accepted it a week later, claiming that they are "revisiting the headcount". They told me to wait for further direction. But in the meantime, I found out that they have extended the position to someone else after telling me that all hiring to the group is on hold. Is this legal?
