Hi Mel: I'm currently employed in a health care facility as an RT. Our staffing has dipped to critically low levels,( we've lost 30% of our therapists) we frequently work alone. I would like to know in advance if we can be mandated to work 24 hrs straight
There are laws in place that govern mandatory overtime for RN.s in a particular state, but the governing bodies that establish clinical practice guidelines for RT's essentially sold out and have allowed Nursing to control our budget. We aren't a free standing independent profession anymore
