the elevator at my job is broken, i called my boss while standing in the lobby and told her i can not go up 12 flights of stairs ( she is fully aware that i am pregnant) and all she said was to go up and take my time.. i cried the whole way up! it took me 30 mins to get up, i was exhausted and late for work. is this fair????

Fair, I would likely say it was not. The questions is whether it is illegal. Given your condition you may be entitled to some form of an accommodation, however, I suspect that the elevator will be repaired soon and this will not be an on going issue. If it is an on going issue you may want to consider asking if you can work from the office remotely, from a location that does not require climbing 12 flights of stairs. Best of luck.
