Answer to Hi, I have been on my job for 11 years I accrued a lot of PTO time. My employer want to take it away s pto time is that illegal?

Depends on how it was accrued and it depends on whether you are looking to keep your job. You could have a legal right to recover the money if it was accrued over time and based on weeks worked, but that legal right or claim may very well result in the employer deciding to terminate your employment. Hope this helps.

Answer to Is it legal to dock an employee pay for being late?

It is legal as long as it is being done with notice and not retroactively without notice and it does no cause you pay to fall beyond the required minimum wage rate required in Florida. Hope this helps.

Answer to my position was eliminated and I was offered another position at approx. the same pay, but this job is a physical job that I haven't done in over 20 years and have never done for this company, if I refuse this position, and they have nothing else comparab

If you turn down the job and the employer informs unemployment of this you will likely not qualify for benefits. Exception to this might be if you were able to demonstrate to unemployment that physically you were unable to perform the work required in the new position. Hope this helps.

Answer to I'm an outside vendor for a hospital chain. They said hey don't need my services anymore because I'm old and don't understand their needs.

Sounds like age discrimination, however, the issue is whether the Hospital is your employer. Companies can be deemed employers even though they may not be the entity that pays you. I recommend you explore this with counsel of your choosing. Best of luck.

Answer to the elevator at my job is broken, i called my boss while standing in the lobby and told her i can not go up 12 flights of stairs ( she is fully aware that i am pregnant) and all she said was to go up and take my time.. i cried the whole way up! it took me

Fair, I would likely say it was not. The questions is whether it is illegal. Given your condition you may be entitled to some form of an accommodation, however, I suspect that the elevator will be repaired soon and this will not be an on going issue. If it is an on going issue you may want to consider asking if you can work from the office remotely, from a location that does not require climbing 12 flights of stairs. Best of luck.

Answer to I worked for a company for almost 4 years and was fired on 10-12-15 before my anniversary date which would have been 10-24-15. Shouldn't they still pay the vacation time even if it's a portion of it

Depends on how you earned it. If it was accrued, say 1.5 days for each week you worked, then, yes, that is money in a bank so to speak and you have entitlement to it as an unpaid wage. If it was given to you based on your years of service, say 4 weeks into your third year of employment, there is no entitlement. Hope this helps.

Answer to I live in Florida and work a commission based job, my employer wants to deduct 5% of the commission for paperwork being done improperly and put you on probation. This would be for a 2 week period. Is this legal?

The employer can change the pay rate by deducting 5% if it wishes, but can do so only going forward. You then, in essence, have the ability to either accept those new terms or not by either continuing on, or not, with your employment. Hope this helps.

Answer to What to do when you get fired from an employment and they refuse to pay what they owe you?

I recommend you seek assistance from counsel to reach out to the employer. You are legally entitled to your wages earned. Best of luck.

Answer to Hi, I live in FLORIDA and I work as a consultant for my employer who is based out of GA. My recent contract was in CA. My employer has received payment for my hours worked and has been reimbursed for my travel expenses. I confirmed with the payee that all

If this is a matter of you not being paid for your services, I recommend you speak with counsel right away. The longer you wait sometimes, the less likely it will be that you ever receive payment. Hope this helps.
