After winning our unemployment appeal against Verizon, should we hire a private attorney?
We won our unemployment appeal against Verizon. We have in writing by the State that Verizon indeed violated the EEOC's 2011 agreement with Verizon as well as discrimination (I have muscular dystrophy and required hospitalization). Should we get a private attorney before moving forward with the EEOC? We would like to look at our options. The Judge (NCESC) said we have a clear cut case and made sure to document everything. Verizon requested the hearing to be in person and then didn't backed out last minute. The HR person involved was also let go. We have a solid wrongful termination case based on their inability to adhere to the 2011 EEOC order against them. What is the best way to go about suing for damages?
