Are employers allowed to limit the amount of hours an employee works in a season?
I am a seasonal employee for the City of Highland Heights. I have worked as a lifeguard for six years and a swim coach for four years. This summer when I received my contract for coaching it stated that I was not permitted to work more than 240 hours for the summer. No other positions (lifeguards, maintenance workers, etc.) received any sort of limitation, just swim coaches. We are paid hourly and have never received any limitations before. Is there a way to fight this?
