Dose the employer who terminated you pay part Or All Of Unemployment Benefit The State Provides

Employers sometimes contest an unemployment application and a hearing is established. Trying to understand the motivation to do so. Do they pay part of that benefit where getting the application denied saves them money? Does it effect a rating or unemployment premium they must pay?
