I am a Shop Stewart for a large company. I had a violation and was treated harsher then others with the same violation. Is this retaliation?

We have a new boss for a year and a half who has created a hostile work environment. As a Shop Stewart I have filled grievances on behalf of our Union Brothers and Sisters on our boss’s treatment of employees and the hostile work environment he has created.

Recently I had 2 violations in one day, we were very busy and I asked my boss for help. He told me that he could not justify paying overtime with the current work flow. Normally we would have 3 employees in that situation, instead of the two. Where others have made mistakes and nothing was done, I was given a formal written letter in my file.

If he is treating me differently, is this retaliation or harassment because I am Shop Stewart and have brought to light his treatment of employees?

Thanks

If your boss decided to write you up because of your criticism of him on behalf of the other employees, this would be an unfair labor practice. You should complain to the National Labor Relations Board and have the board investigate it.
