Non-compete Agreement in MA

I started with "x" company in 2007. In 2014, "x" company merged with "y" company and I was asked/required to sign a non-compete agreement. However, my responsibilities, job duties and description did not change nor did my compensation. Is the non-compete agreement enforceable in MA?

Absolutely. Although there have been attempts to change the law, non-competes are still legal in Massachusetts. You basically signed a new non-compete with your new employer. Non-competes are enforceable in Massachusetts. It might not be enforceable in California (only).
