Reverse Sex Discrimination at Work
I have a male friend who has worked seasonally for a very large and very well-known company for 5 years. He has been patiently waiting to get in permanently but they have already passed him up once to hire a female instead. He was just informed that again a female has been offered a position that he was in line for. This female has been there only 2 seasons and is unable to meet the physical demands of the job (she has herself admitted this). My friend has had nothing but outstanding reviews at work but it is a female who does all of the hiring. Is this reversed sex discrimination? If so, would it be worth looking into filing any sort of complaint with EEOC or a civil suit?

Under state and federal law it is illegal to make an employment decision because of a person's gender. It makes no difference what gender is given preference. If he believes that the employment decision was made because of gender, he should seriously consider filing a charge with the EEOC or with the Equal Rights Division.
