how to find out whats in my personnel file
i worked for the clinic for 13years. when i asked for a tramsfer waiver. i couldnt get a job anywhere with the clinic they kept telling me they picked someone one else. even though the position i applied for was still avail. 3 weeks later. im wondering if my old boss put something bad in my files. i never been wrote up. never late. and never called in. after 30 days of this the clinic informed me i dont have a job anymore

There is no general statute or law on this. There are many companies that allow employees to see their files and protest anything that it out of place or wrong. You have to look at your employer's policy. I think you need to see an employment attorney near you. It sounds like not only did you lose a promotion but also the job. You need to find out if there is some basis to make a legal challenge.
