Do i have a retaliation lawsuit?

I got to work tuesday morning and upon my arrival i was told not to clock in. I was called into my supervisors office, and in her office was the HR supervisor also. To make a long story short, one of our clients in the program that i work for is filing a discrimination lawsuit against our company. I was contacted by this client and asked if i would testify that he was discriminated against. I didnt give him an asnswer yet for fear of losing my job, although i must say he and several other clients were discriminated against.
When i was called into her office that morning, both my supervisor and the HR person grilled me about this clients lawsuit, and asked me where the files were for him, i didnt know where they were, so i told themi didnt know. They then proceeded to tell me i was laid off due to restructuring of my position. Basically they were firing me for this clients lawsuit. They told me i would be eligible for unemployment beginning January 2012 and that they were giving me a paid leave due to a grant they received that required me to be employed until the end of the year. This is retaliation against me for someone elses lawsuit and them asking me to testify.

While I am not certain what the basis is for your employer's decision to let you go. Retaliation may in fact be the reason. You really need to see an employment lawyer near you and to bring in all the information related to the other case that has been filed. If you are not let go for just cause, then you will be eligible for unemployment.
