Wrongful termination
I have been with this private healthcare facility for almost 2 years. I was gonna move to a different area, and my administrator was hounding me for a two week notice. During this period I had changed my mind about leaving. A diffent job was coming open at my job and I planned to apply for it. I called my administrator to tell her that I was not leaving and that I plan to apply for the new position coming available. She stated that as of 8-21-09 I would no longer be an employee at her facility. Then I stated that I never turned in a two week notice, so are you firing me and she stated that I guess it sounds that way. I was on vacation wehn this happened, so needless to say my vacation was terrible. When I come back to work, I applied for the position that was open and waitied for an interview. She told me she was taking applications until 8-14-09. When she didn't get any more applicants for the position she extended it to 8-18-09. On 8-20-09 she stated that she would like to speak with me later in the afternoon. Never onece did she state this would be an interview. I was blind sighted, I didn't have time to prepare myself for an interview. And I was on the clock. I was stressed from a full days work and unable to thrink straight. I didn't get the job needless top say, and now I'm jobless. I think she discriminated me in so many ways cause the only people she is getting rid of is the Afircan- Americans. I'm the fifth one gone. She talked down on me, and quite cheery with others of different race. Do you think I would have a case? I'm reporting this to the EEOC and the department of human rights in Missouri.
